Claire: Alcohol is something that's quite common in our events that we go to. It's a social thing. I think that there could be greater awareness in the community about the effects of alcohol during pregnancy and also not just for mothers, but also the support people that are around them as well.  Text slide: Partners, friends and family play an important role in supporting an alcohol-free pregnancy. Claire: I was really fortunate. My mother is a MACH (Maternal and Child Health) nurse, so she was able to provide me quite a bit of support during the pregnancy. But also my husband, he was also very supportive. He went alcohol-free whenever I was around so that was really helpful. And I have to say generally my friends and family were quite supportive.  Text slide: There are many things you can do to help a loved one who is pregnant. Claire: I think just things like instead of going out for drinks, maybe you could go out for coffee. Social networks are really important, especially during pregnancies. Consider some other options, like maybe going for a walk or having coffee with friends or even an alcohol-free games tonight.
